In 2025 we have been given three contexts:
AI generated content in social media
Car safety systems
Uses in healthcare.
You may have already guessed these were the themes based on previous pages.
Students who do well in the exam are Widely read on the topic. This means that they know enough about the topic to be able to answer any curveball question that comes their way.
In this section I will provide articles about these areas and ask questions.

In this section I will provide articles about these areas and ask questions.
Literacy
For this assessment there is a higher level of literacy required to gain different grades.
Describe: Achieved - What, When Where and Who.
Example: AI can be used in Healthcare by professionals to detect cancer in x-rays from patients in medical imaging.
Explain: Merit - Add How and Why to Describe
Example: Through the use of machine learning and neural networks AI can be trained to detect cancer in patients from X-Rays. The Neural network will be trained with large data sets of patients with cancer and patients without. It then could develop an algorithm to detect patterns of cancer. From this it could make a prediction with new images as to whether a patient has cancer or not. There are many benefits to doing this such as having more accurate predictions and lower overheads as you don't have to hire so many experts.
Discuss: Excellence - Take into account different Ideas
Example continued from previous paragraphs: There may however be other issues involved with using AI for cancer detection. For example the data set would need to be wide and varied to include a diverse range of people. For example is there a difference in the pattern detection for people with a different gender or race? On top of this there could be legal issues having a machine misdiagnose an individual. Hospitals and the medical profession would have to look at the tradeoff between faster and cheaper diagnoses and potential liability for using AI which can malfunction. In order to remedy this some hospitals use both AI and a technician to get the best possible result.
