AS91894 - Use advanced techniques to develop an electronics outcome
Time Given: 3 Terms of the year

Standard: AS91894
Version: 1 Level: 2 Credits: 6 Marking Schedule: AS91894 Electronics Marking Schedule.xlsx Documentation Template: Documentation Link |
For this assessment you will need to create your own electronics output.
You will need to design a brief that the teacher approves on and meets the requirements. It needs to be an outcome that meets the requirement of the assessment and uses advanced* techniques. *examples of advanced techniques: ● using embedded software ● subsystem level design ● remote control ● advanced printed circuit board (PCB) development ● data storage (EEPROM) ● analogue to digital conversion (ADC). The main focus of this assessment is on the testing, evaluation and justification of choosing the components you wish to use. You will want to refine and review your components so that your outcome is more reliable. |

Pathway
1.) Select a brief and work with the teacher to ensure that it is suitable for the assessment. Does it met the criteria for an advanced electronics outcome.
2.) Explain the relevant implications to the outcome
3.) Create a design of your outcome
4.) Seek feedback and update your design
5.) Explain the behavior and function of the outcome.
(This will include an explanation of what the outcome does and how the components work together to make this happen. )
6.) Choose the components\systems for your outcome
7.) Explain and justify the choices you have made when choosing the outcomes
8.) Iterate your outcome and refine it until it is reliable. Using evidence show how you have iterated and how it is reliable.
9.) Show evidence that you have addressed relevant implications

Glossary/Terms
Component:
A component is a physical electronics component, such as an actuator or sensor.
System:
A system refers to the programming behind a particular subsystem.
Explain:
An explanation can answer these questions: Who, What, Where, Why and How.
Justify:
An argument as to why your outcome meets certain criteria, Weigh up evidence and make an argument.
Reliability:
Does your outcome function easily without any issue, is it easy for the end user? does it sometimes present errors.?
