Term 2 Overview

Focus: Building a website app using JavaScript + How is data displayed in bits?

Term two will have a focus on our programming assessment.

It will be extremely busy with a focus on:

During the term you will gain skills in JavaScript and then produce your own program. The focus for level 2 will be on arrays and functions.

We will spend the first 6 weeks of term 2 focusing on this.

If you have not done JavaScript before you will need to do extra homework to complete year 11 learning.

Why? and who cares?

Coding is the life blood of the computer industry, without code the world would come grinding to a halt.

Coding is one of the easily higher paying careers and helps us control and run our environment around us.

What is different from level 1?

NZQA requires that you create a plan for an app and an actual app.

This could be done in any programming language such as Python, Java, Javascript etc.

We will be using Javascript as our main programming language as it links with web development.

For year 12 we will be looking at Arrays and Modular programming (functions).

What to look for when learning CSS and HTML in Code Avengers

In order to succeed this term you have to show that you can successfully create a program that uses arrays and functions, and interacts with html
