Brief:

You are embarking upon a journey to develop your own game using unity engine. You will need to decide on a simple game to make and plan out the production of this game.

This assessment judges how well you manage the project and the tools you use to manage this project.

You will be testing and trialling different components of this outcome and then testing it will work as intended.

Steps

Here are the steps you will undertake when creating this game in unity:

​​1.) Using Trello create a plan for tasks and milestones for the game you are creating.
2.) Think of the simple game that you wish to create. Do some research. Something as simple as flappy bird would be a good first game.
3.) Create a mockup of what in game gameplay will look like.
3.) Discuss the relevant implications for the project.
4.) Break the project down into smaller components
5.) Create the different components
6.) Test the different components
7.) Test the outcome functions as intended.

Achieved

For an Achieved grade you will need to:
  • Use appropriate project management tools and techniques whilst planning and developing the outcome*
  • Break the outcome into smaller components
  • Trial each component
  • Test that the outcome functions as needed
  • Explain Relevant implications

*appropriate project management tools and techniques for this assessment include:
  • saving backup copies with a logical file naming system
  • using collaboration tools
  • using simple version control software applications (GitHub)
  • using tools or systems to plan tasks and milestones (Trello)
  • adjusting key actions and tasks where appropriate 

Evidence will need to be gathered in order to ensure that you have used appropriate project management tools and techniques.

  • Effectively use project management and version control tools and techniques to manage the development of a digital technologies outcome.
  • Trial multiple components/techniques and select those that are most suitable
  • Use information appropriately from testing and trialing to improve the functionality of the digital technologies outcome.
  • Address relevant implications

Excellence

For an Excellence grade you will need to discuss how information form the planning, testing and trialing of components assisted in the development of a high-quality outcome.

This will mean writing a short 3 paragraph essay about how your project is high quality and what information informed that conclusion.
